Flying Scotsman – Food & Drink Event – Full Steam ahead

The Flying Scotsman visited the Scottish Borders on Sunday 15th May. To celebrate there was a  Food and Drink Fayre with a marquee housing a range of fantastic local Scottish Borders Food and Drink producers & providers including: Tweedbank’s own Tempest Brewing Co. to The Chainbridge Honey Farm, Border Tablet, Thomas & Ethel,  Macamoon,  Cuddybridge Apple Juice, Stichill Jerseys  and soon to be starting up as craft brewers- Stow Brewery were there for people to sample their wares and learn more about their plans for the site by the new Waverley line station in Stow , and much more…

Thousands of people came along to sample and buy some lovely produce from the Borders. In addition to the farmers market there was a variety of local catering options including: Gary Moore Catering, The Juicy Meat Co. and a licenced bar by Tempest Brewing Co. There was live music, and other great stalls such as Main Street Trading Company selling Books and Deli items from their shop, Borders Book Festival to  Locus Focus who have created and ‘Borders Railway Guide’ which was also available on the day to buy too.. It really was a fantastic day and the ideal place to celebrate this landmark day and visit from the legendary Flying Scotsman!
